![]() Basically, our C7 was probably the least expensive car there when it visited. They do a lot of very high end cars, and their waiting list to get a time slot on a weekend is insane. ![]() That's the official installer in the SF Bay Area. The price we paid was high - $795 to Premiere in Fremont, CA. They installed it perfectly and you can still see all the chevrons. I particularly like the C7 logos in the rear window, so I specifically requested no blacking out of anything there. My hubby made the remark that I need to design all future drives to be West in the AM, East in the PM. And it was nearly comical how fast we turned down the AC temp when we made a turn and were suddenly driving straight into the sun in some sections where the sun was beating thru the untinted windshield. We ran the AC at in the 70's rather than the 60's as we did in the prior weeks. The heat rejection properties were astounding. And the product is not totally unknown, but it seems to be talked about A LOT on the Tesla forums with their big full glass roofs and not so much here.Īnyway, we had 75% installed on the side windows, 55% on the rears, none on the windshield, last Tuesday.Īnd then on Thursday thru Tuesday right after that, we took a 1200+ mile road trip, most of which was in 100+ degree heat. ![]() There is basically one official installer of this stuff in each 'region' so you would have to see if there is one near you. I tried to do a photo today, but its difficult because its a cloudy day and I don't think it felt the need to fully engage, even after I let it sit outside for a half hour. The transition is slight and takes about 20 min to fully darken in direct sun. It has a slight darkening / transitioning quality (like sunglasses). It rejects 98.5% of the heat, 99.5% of UVB/UVA. We installed Spectra PhotoSync, manufactured by the Prestige company (you can google it) that is non metallic, non ceramic and has some great fancy technology built in. However, even though you might not be impressed with our photo, I wanted to mention our product for all of you to consider. I realize most people are tinting for the looks, but we were more interested in tinting for heat rejection, so we waited for Summer and we put a much lighter tint than most people. I wanted to put mine in here now that we finally had it done. I am guessing this is our Forum's most official window tinting thread.
